Associate Vice President for Facilities

David Kang is the Associate Vice President of Facilities at Caltech, responsible for facilities operations, planning, construction, utilities/energy, sustainability, security and Environmental Health and Safety programs. Prior to Caltech, he served as the Vice Chancellor for Infrastructure and Sustainability at the University of Colorado Boulder, the Director of Project Management at the White House Military Office and the Director for Shore Energy for the Department of the Navy where he championed and led department-wide efforts on sustainability on Naval installations throughout the world. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves to hike, trail run, surf, and camp.
